Welcome to the first Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in the United States. Shirdi Sai Baba Temple of Pittsburg was initiated in 1979 under the divine guidance of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba to Srimati Mahalakshmi & Sri Panduranga Rao Malyala. It was fully operational from July 24th 1985. The Municipality of Monroeville approved the buildings on 1449 and 1451 Abers Creek Road, currently home of the temple.

The temple is conducting the Peace Yagnas for the past 22 years and we thank all the devotees for their generous support. The theme of 2012 Yagna: 1. Daiva Preeti (Love towards God) 2. Paapa Bheeti (Fear of Sin) 3. Sangha Neeti (Morality of society). The sound(Mantras) and Light (from Fire) of Yagnas will cleanse consciousness in all levels of creation, confer Peace, bliss to all beings, eliminating the wickedness, animal tendencies and enhance integrity.

For the Loka Kalyanam (Universal Peace) and good of all beings, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, (Pittsburgh, PA) is sponsoring the Ati Rudra Maha Yagna. It is said that this yagna was first performed by Lord Shiva Himself for the peace and prosperity of the world after destroying the Bhasmasura with the help of Maha Vishnu.
The goals of performing this 11 day yagna are: 1) World and American economic recovery; 2) Cleansing of the consciousness of all beings; 3) Containment of terrorism; 4) Contain global warming (environmental protection); 5) Find alternative technologies other than oil/gasoline; 6) To promote physical and mental health for all beings; 7) To provide peace and bliss.
Traditionally, this yagna is conducted over 11 days with 121 pundits. We need your support to conduct the yagna, which will have a total cost to the Temple about $54,000. Please look into your heart (and pocketbook) and support the Ati Rudra Maha Yagnam generously, which will be conducted at our vedapatasals. The ARMY will be rendered by our 11 pundits and 111 student pundits of our higher Learning institutes of n Kakinada and Puttaparthi in AP, Srinagar and Katra (J&K),Gangtok (Sikkim) and Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh).
Donors will have their names included in the sankalpam. This will cleanse all levels of their consciousness. The yagna will have a great influence on all living beings. Ati Rudra Maha Yagnam is a very important form of worship of Lord Siva, Who is the very source of cosmic energy for the entire creation. His divine form encompasses and extends far beyond all the known and unknown galaxies and universes. Lord Siva is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is the conqueror of death and an embodiment of infinite mercy, compassion, and love. Lord Siva is traditionally worshipped in the form of the linga, resembling the replica of Brahmanda. Abhishekham (pouring of liquids over linga) is the ritual dearest to His heart. Abhisekam is a scientific process of creation of negative ions which will give tremendous amount of happiness and peace cleansing the minds and atmosphere relieving depression, tiredness and anxiety of all beings as envisaged by ancient seers and saints of India millions of years ago.
