Akshaya Tritiya: Akshaya Tritiya was the day when Satyayuga ended and Tretayuga began. Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya known as Akshay Tritiya.  On this auspicious day tila tarpana and Udaka Kumbh are performed t
o ancestors.

Til-tarpaan means offering til (sesame seeds) Deities and ancestors. Water offered for ancestors is called as Pitru-tarpana and offer Brahman-bhojan (offering meal to Brahman). By doing tarpana, ancestors are satisfied. Deities are offered white til and ancestors are offered black til.

Many wondering souls come to receive the tarpanam, they get energy through the til-tarpana and also attain momentum for further journey.
Akshay Tritiya has a special significance for women. On this day, they worship goddess Gowri (Chaitra Gowri). Suvasini (married women) offer each other Haldi-kumkum on Tuesday or Friday between Chaitra Shukla Trutiya and Vaishakh Shukla Trutiya.

Offer Suvasini tambulam to a Sumangali will bestow every lasting bliss and happy marriage. The offering made on this day is everlasting.

Most important Daana which is offered is UDAKA KUMBHA daana. Pot filled with water to crunch the thirst of ancestors.

We Should not buy GOLD on this day because the Kali Purusha resides in gold.

Other daanas recommended fan, umbrella, shoes/ footwear etc on the day of Akshay Tritiya for the sake of ancestors.
