Significance of Amavasya Tarpanam :


Amavasya is new moon day in Hindu calendar. It is significant day to perform many rituals. Deva rishi pitru tarpanam is performed to forefathers. Amavasya falling on Saturday is known as Shani Amavasya  which we celebrate as his birthday. Jyeshtha masa according to North Indian / Vaishakha  according to South Indian calendar. 

All Amavasya days are appropriate to perform Shraddha rituals to appease ancestors. Amavasya day is also appropriate day to perform Kalasarpa Dosha puja.

Significance of  Sankramanam:


In our calendar, there are total 12  Sankramana  in a year. 


Among all Sankramana, Makar Sankramana is the most significant one and it is observed throughout India. It is  known as Sankranti,  in South India, Makar Sankranti is observed for four days. 

Sankramana  days are considered good for charity activities like Annadana, Vastra dana  etc.....
